Formerly known as Easy Life, the band has returned as Hard Life with their new single ‘Tears.’ Frontman Murray Matravers shares, “This is the energy I want to put out into the world.”
The band formerly known as Easy Life has reemerged from their legal battle with easyGroup under a new name, Hard Life, and with a comeback single titled ‘Tears.’ Check it out below along with our interview with frontman Murray Matravers.
Last year, Easy Life played their final show under their original name, conceding defeat in a legal battle over the name against easyGroup, the owner of the easyJet brand. They expressed that “sadly, it seems that justice is only available to those who can afford it” and lamented their lack of funds to pursue a fair trial in the High Court. easyGroup had publicly accused the band of being “brand thieves.”
The band announced they would relinquish their name due to financial constraints, following a farewell gig in London where the sold-out KOKO crowd chanted “fuck EasyJet,” and released their final single as Easy Life, titled ‘Trust Exercises.’
