Taylor Swift showcases the colors of the Irish flag and delivers unexpected song mashups during her debut night in Dublin.

On Friday (June 28), the 34-year-old pop superstar dazzled in a sparkling ensemble adorned with the colors of the Irish flag during the opening concert of her Eras Tour at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium.

During the 1989 segment of her set, Swift donned a shimmering jewel-encrusted orange crop top paired with a matching green skirt. This section featured popular tracks from her 2014 album, including Billboard Hot 100 hits like “Blank Space,” “Shake It Off,” and “Bad Blood.”

The concert also included surprises, with Swift debuting two new mashups during the surprise songs segment of the performance. For her first surprise track of the evening, she combined “State of Grace” from her 2012 Red album with “You’re On Your Own, Kid” from her 2022 release Midnights. This marked the first time she performed “You’re On Your Own, Kid” on acoustic guitar.

During her second surprise performance, Swift delighted fans with a medley combining “Sweet Nothing” from Midnights and “Hoax” from Folklore, marking her first live rendition of the latter on the Eras Tour.

Elsewhere in the show, Swift paid homage to her boyfriend Travis Kelce by mimicking the Kansas City Chiefs tight end’s iconic archer pose while singing “Midnight Rain” from her 2022 album Midnights.

Prior to her three-night residency in Ireland, Swift received a warm welcome from the country’s renowned rockers. She shared on her Instagram Stories a photo of flowers and a heartfelt note sent by U2. The card, accompanying a bouquet of roses and lilies, read, “Dear Taylor, welcome back to our hometown… leave some of it standing?!!!!” Signed by “Your Irish fan club, Bono, Edge, Adam, and Larry.”

Swift responded on Instagram, captioning her post with gratitude: “Already feeling that Irish hospitality!! @u2, thanks for always being the classiest & coolest.” She included an Irish flag emoji.
