Chappell Roan shares her reasons for not endorsing Kamala Harris.

Chappell Roan has revealed that her concerns about the U.S. government are the reason she hasn’t endorsed any presidential candidate for the 2024 election.

The “Pink Pony Club” singer, who has emerged as one of 2024’s breakout pop stars, is currently touring the UK, with her final shows set for London’s Brixton Academy tonight (September 20) and tomorrow.

Recently, her song “Femininomenon” has been embraced by Kamala Harris’s campaign, while other celebrities like Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Chris Rock, Ben Stiller, and Meryl Streep have also shown their support for the Democratic candidate.

In an interview with The Guardian, Roan, 26, stated that she doesn’t feel compelled to endorse any particular candidate. “I have so many issues with our government in every way,” she explained. “There are many things I would want to change, so I don’t feel pressured to support someone.”

Chappell Roan emphasized, “There are problems on both sides. I encourage people to use your critical thinking skills and vote—focus on local issues and what’s happening in your city.”

When asked about the changes she wants to see in the U.S., Roan stated, “Trans rights. Cis people should not be making decisions for trans individuals, period.”

To support this cause, she is donating £1 for every ticket sold during her UK tour to the LGBTQ+ rights charity Kaleidoscope Trust.

In the same interview, she reflected on her early fame and her recent Instagram post urging fans to respect her boundaries. “For the past 10 years, I’ve been working nonstop to build my career, and now I need to draw lines and establish boundaries,” she explained.
