Check out IDLES’ cover of Little Simz, featuring a hint of Peaches and the Chemical Brothers.
IDLES have released two new recordings for their first Spotify Singles release, including a cover of Little Simz’s “Mood Swings.” The Bristol rock band has reimagined the track with a lo-fi soundscape, influenced by the dance music references in their latest album, ‘TANGK’. Their electronic-driven version of “Mood Swings” incorporates elements of Peaches’ “Fuck The Pain Away” and The Chemical Brothers’ “Elektrobank.”
Originally from Little Simz’s EP ‘Drop 7’, released in February this year and produced by Jakwob (Nia Archives, Shygirl), the original “Mood Swings” featured 808s and club-inspired beats, along with an interpolation of Solange’s “Binz” that is absent in IDLES’ interpretation.
